Foxglove
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea ) is an upright biennial which blooms
with three to six foot spikes of purple blossoms.
Several species and varieties are available in shades of white,
lavender, purple or yellow.
These do well interplanted with other tall perennials in mixed borders.

CULTIVATION:
- Location: Plant in partial shade.
- Soil: They do well in almost any soil but do like a little
humous in the mix.
- Water: Water regularly, but they don't like
wet feet, nor do they like to be kept extremely dry.
- Pruning: Deadhead regularly if you don't want lots of seedlings.

PROPAGATION:
- Foxgloves may be started from seed in late spring.
Broadcast seed where the plant is to grow or start them in containers.
Plant purchased or home-grown four inch or six-pac plants in fall.
This plant reseeds prolifically.
You can also divide the clumps in spring or fall.

TRY THESE SPECIES:
- Digitalis x mertensis .
- Digitalis grandiflora ) displays yellow flowers in early summer.
